Bath City manager Jerry Gill has praised the professionalism of his Sutton United counterpart Matt Gray after Donovan Wilson joined the National League side on loan.
Forward Wilson has impressed since joining Gill’s side this season, scoring half a dozen goals in the National League South.
With the Step 2 season brought to a premature conclusion, the 23-year-old has now signed on loan for high-flying Sutton.
Gill told his club’s website: “This loan move for Donovan is a wonderful opportunity for him to go and play games for a club that is not only challenging for promotion to the EFL but at a club and with a manager that fits well in terms of style of play and philosophy, which is important for both us and Donovan.
“I will be attending as many of his games as I can, so I can continue to monitor Donovan’s performances.
“A big thank you goes to Matt Gray in how professional he has been throughout the negotiation of this loan deal.
“Again, it is another example of a Bath City player in good form being recognised and attracting interest from clubs at a higher level.
“All of us at Bath City FC wish Donovan all the very best and look forward to seeing him back in a Romans shirt next season.”
