Full-back Leon Davies has joined Vanarama National League South club Bath City on an initial month`s loan from League Two side Cambridge United.

Davies, 19, switches to Twerton Park in order to gain further game-time at a competitive level with the Romans pushing for promotion.

Progressing through one of the U’s regional development centres, Davies was a regular for the United under-18 side in the 2015/16 season whilst a first-year scholar at the Abbey Stadium.

An athletic right-back with pace to burn, he impressed enough to be handed a first-team start by Shaun Derry in the EFL Trophy win at Shrewsbury Town in September 2016, aged just 16 years and 283 days.

He made two further appearances during the home fixtures with Middlesbrough under-23s and Scunthorpe United in the same competition, before signing a three-year professional deal in November 2016.

He made his League debut for United in a 4-0 home win over Notts County during January 2017 and now has 15 games to his name.

Davies will be eligible to make his Bath debut against league leaders Torquay United tomorrow.
