Now that a playoff place has been confirmed, Hampton and Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson is now focusing on Wednesday’s play-off semi-final first leg against Ebbsfleet United.

After yesterday’s hard win over Concord Rangers, Dowson wasn’t quite sure what to make of the general analysis of the result.

“The results of the last couple of weeks have been outstanding. There’s players out there needing operations, players who shouldn’t even be out there, and players out of position and yet we’ve done what we had to do to get the results we needed.”

“Tom Jelley shouldn’t really be out there, but he’s been going through the pain barrier for the club AND he’s having to play out of position as well, as have one or two others. That’s how much they wanted to be in these next playoff matches. These are the matches every player wants to involved in, and have they earned it!”

In spite of that, Dowse is warning the other three clubs not to write the Beavers off.

“We’ve had good results against all of the other playoff contenders and we can easily do it again! These players want it, so much so, they’re putting themselves on the line every game for the club and they feel they’re all good for another 3 matches.”

“If our great fans come out and drive them on as well, is there a limit to what they can do?”
