Brentford’s development squad defender Audrius Laucys has joined Hemel Hempstead Town on a one-month youth loan.

The Lithuanian youth international linked with Vanarama National League South side yesterday, Tuesday 2 February, and played 74 minutes in their loss to Bishop’s Stortford last night.

The deal was completed hours before kick-off yesterday and the defender will stay with Hemel initially for the rest of this month. The deal was finalised yesterday as non-league sides are not restricted by the January Transfer Window.

The 19-year-old, who can play at right back or in the centre of defence, turned professional last summer after completing his scholarship. Aidy, as he is known, has played 14 games for the Development Squad this term after signing a one-year contract.

The Lithuanian was part of his country’s Under-18 squad last season and he will be available for Hemel’s next six league matches. The Hertfordshire club are currently ninth in the National League South.
