AFC Fylde manager Jim Bentley has returned to his role for the time being after his upcoming heart surgery was postponed.

The former Morecambe boss was initially set to have the operation earlier this year.

Last weekend, it was announced that he would be temporarily handing over managerial duties to assistant Nick Chadwick, with a revised 3rd November date for the surgery.

Today, though, National League North high-flyers Fylde have said: “”The circumstances have meant that Jim’s operation has had to be delayed until the end of November. The manager will take training as usual, and be back in the dugout for Saturday’s National League North fixture against Farsley Celtic.

“The club will update you as and when we receive more details regarding Jim’s period of self-isolation and date of operation.”
