Bermudian striker Tevahn Tyrell has signed for Durham City.
Tyrell, who has non-league experience with the likes of Mickelover Sports and Hucknall Town, spent time with Darlington on trial last summer. Darlo’s former finance director John Woolnough, who has lived and worked in Bermuda, is now the director of football at Durham City.
Woolnough told Durham’s website: “Tevahn is a winner, his attitude is first class and he has a big point to prove. He knows he has what it takes to play at a much higher level and he’s now ready to prove that.
“Physically he is very impressive; he looks like a Premier League footballer. He looks a different person to when he arrived at Darlington; much stronger and fitter.
“His physical presence can mean his quality on the ball is often overlooked; this lad can actually play with the ball at his feet and he’s very quick. Everywhere he’s played he’s scored goals.”
There could be a slight delay to Tyrell’s first outing, as the club await international clearance.
