York City midfielder James Berrett has today joined SkyBet League Two side Grimsby Town.
The 27-year-old signed for the Minstermen last summer and went on to make 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.
Berrett started his career with Huddersfield Town, before spending time with Carlisle United.
After four years with the Cumbrians he moved to Yeovil Town in 2014.
He spent last season with York City, and will now remain in the Football League with the newly promoted Mariners.
As Berrett leaves City yet another player joins Jackie McNamara’s squad.
The Minstermen completed have completed the signing of Boston United winger Kaine Felix.
The 21-year-old penned a two-year deal at Bootham Crescent earlier today and becomes Jackie McNamara’s fifth signing of the week after Yan Klukowski, Daniel Nti, Aidan Connolly and Callum Rzcona all penned deals in North Yorkshire.
Felix began his career at Peterborough United before switching to Southern League Premier Division side St Neots Town at the age of 16. After two years with the Saints, however, he moved to Boston United in July 2014 along with manager Dennis Green on a two-year deal.
Over the course of the next two campaigns, the 5ft 10in winger gained a reputation as one of the brightest talents in non-league football, going on to reach consecutive National League North play-offs at York Street as well as receiving a call up to the England C squad.
In total, Felix made 76 appearances at United, scoring eight times and laying on 19 assists.
