Kettering Town have received a huge boost in their bid to return to Kettering.

The club have been exiled for the past decade since leaving Rockingham Road, currently playing their home fixtures at Latimer Park in nearby Burton Latimer, home to Burton Park Wanderers.

The National League North side’s purchase of land at Weekley Glebe has now been given approval by the Secretary of State.

The club have said: “This is a significant milestone in our journey back to Kettering and means that we can now progress to the final phase of land purchase. There are still a number of stages to complete before we can submit plans and ultimately break ground, but this approval had to be obtained before we could progress matters further.

“We would like to thank Kettering Borough Council for their continued support and to everyone who has helped us reach this point.”
