Billericay Town have announced the signing of former EFL winger Alfie Potter.
The 29-year-old left Mansfield Town at the end of last season after making 35 appearances for the League Two side, scoring five goals. Potter has represented the likes of Peterborough United, Oxford United, AFC Wimbledon and Northampton Town.
The ex-Wimbledon and Millwall youngster came to the attention of many when playing for Havant & Waterlooville on loan from Peterborough in January 2008. Potter was pivotal in the Hawks taking a 2-1 lead over Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup fourth round, as his shot went in off Reds defender Martin Skrtel. He was later named Player of the Round.
He now joins up with Harry Wheeler’s Billericay as they look to mount a promotion charge in the Vanarama National League South following promotion last season.
