Striker Ross Lafayette has left Sutton United and signed for Vanarama National League South leaders Billericay Town.
Lafayette joined in summer 2017 from Dover, and scored 15 goals in 53 games for the club, including four in the league this season. Manager Paul Doswell explained: ”We had an enquiry from Dean Brennan at Billericay with regards to Ross, and have agreed to his immediate transfer.
“Billericay have offered Ross a really good contract which includes a deal for next season and an option for a further year thereafter, and at this moment we were not in a position to talk with regards to next season. Ross was a big part of our success last season and was a pleasure to work with, and this opportunity is perfect for him as it allows him to work as a recruitment manager during the day and train in the evenings.
“We wish him all the best for the future.”
Billericay have also signed former Hull City player Calaum Jahraldo-Martin, and Nottingham Forest youngsters Joe Coveney and Ethan Stewart on short-term loans.
