Billericay Town attacker Ricky Modeste has become the club’s first international player (while with the club) and goalscorer.

The team made the short flight to Trinidad on Saturday for a friendly match with their neighbours.

The first half ended goalless but Oxford United’s Shandon Baptiste, making his second appearance for Grenada, opened the scoring in the 49th minute.

In the 72nd minute, 29-year-old Modeste doubled Grenada’s lead. The hosts pulled a goal back in the 89th minute then equalised in the 92nd.

The two sides are due to meet again next month. This appearance makes Modeste the first Billericay Town player to win an international cap.
