Penrith AFC have parted company with manager, Matt Henney, who has been with the Club for almost four years, with immediate effect.

In a statement on the club’s official website they thanks Henney for his work.

It read “We wish to place on record our appreciation of all his hard word work, during his time at Frenchfield, and wish him all the best for the future”

Henney’s replacement is former Carlisle United player Mark Birch, who made 109 appearances for the Cumbrians.

Birch also played for Gretna and Penrith during his career and will be in charge for their Northern League match at Jarrow Roofing on Saturday.
