Blues’ Supporters’ Club and the 12th Man appeal have funded Bishop’s Stortford’s signing of experienced midfielder Josh Simpson.
The 30-year-old has been training with the Blues for several weeks.
Born in Harlow, he started his career at Cambridge City in 2004 before moving across the city to Cambridge United. He has had spells with Peterborough United, Southend United, Crawley Town and Plymouth Argyle.
He has four caps at England C level.
