Salisbury’s Jack Vallis has sadly been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a hairline fracture of his left ankle in the 4-1 win at Alresford.

Jack, who scored the opening goal before the injury, also damaged ligaments and tendons as a result of a block tackle.

“It’s unfortunate for Jack as he was doing well and he could have expected a run of games now, with games coming thick and fast,” said Whites manager Steve Claridge. “We wish him well in his rehab.”

Jack joins fellow defender Calum Brockway on the sidelines for the rest of the season. Calum will be undergoing surgery as a result of a second shoulder dislocation in the Vase semi first leg at Hereford.

Better news comes with goalkeeper Gareth Barfoot’s return to training after hernia surgery. He is expected to be available for selection again in the next two to three weeks.
