Bishop’s Stortford keeper Joe Wright was released from Ashford hospital late on Saturday evening, but looks likely to need surgery.

Having regained his place in the side after a month acting an understudy to Tom Lovelock, Joe was injured a collision with a Hythe Town striker in Saturday’s FA Trophy defeat.

He has a fractured eye socket and his jaw has been pushed out of line. Until the swelling has gone down a decision on whether surgery is needed cannot be made, but it seems highly likely.
