There are plans at Blyth Spartans to have a mural at the club’s Croft Park home for club legend Robbie Dale.
The club’s record appearance holder announced he would stop playing ahead of the current season.
Dale made 680 appearances for the club, scoring 212 goals along the way, and there are plans now for a tribute to his impact to be put up at the Plessey Road entrance to Croft Park.
The club aim to unveil the mural in April this year and a GoFundMe page has been organised by Simon Needham and CIMA accountant and Spartans supporter Alan McLean to try and raise £5000.
The plan is for the mural to be painted on the side of Gino’s Fish Bar by Frank Styles, whose work has previously seen him produce murals of Sunderland legends.
