Boreham Wood have confirmed the arrival of 21-year-old striker Bradley Ash on a season-long loan from Championship side Barnsley.
The young forward joined the Tykes in Janaury 2016 from Weston-super-Mare AFC following an eye-catching debut season in the National League South, netting 14 goals in as many appearances.
Ash, who has played for England Colleges as well as an England C select 11, spent last season back at Weston on loan, and netted an impressive 19 goals in thirty-four appearances.
Ash told the club`s official website (http://www.borehamwoodfootballclub.co.uk): “I have always known that Boreham Wood are a great club. I played them three years ago for Weston, before I moved to Barnsley, so is it something that I have always known.
“I think that I can really progress here and I think I can do well for the team. I can’t wait to meet up with all the lads and the gaffer and the assistant, I can’t wait to get started.”
“I want to help the team to gain promotion, and for me personally, I want to score as many goals as I can, I want to hit doubles figures and then I want to reach 20 and I’ll see where it takes me.”
Manager Luke Garrard said: “I know a lot about him from his Weston days and his move to Barnsley. He hit 19 goals last season and he is different to what we’ve already got; he is pacey, he is off the shoulder, he has got good movement, he has got an eye for goal and he is a great prospect.
“The kid is hungry and he scores goals, so it is a massive plus to get him at the club. He has accomplished a lot in the last few years at Weston in the league below and now I think that he has to add to his game.
“He can gain experience and a bit of know-how here from the likes of Paul Benson, so I think that the club will benefit Bradley and I know that if he is given a platform then he’ll deliver”.
