Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division title-challengers Scarborough Athletic have bolstered their squad by signing Ryan Watson from league rivals Farsley Celtic.

Watson was a Huddersfield Town youth player until the summer 2010.

During the 2010/11 season he had spells at Bradford Park Avenue and Frickley Athletic, before joining Farsley in the Spring of 2011 where he was part of the squad that won the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier League and cup `double`.

He stayed at Throstle Nest until midway through the 2012/13 season when he joined Curzon Ashton.

He remained with The Nash until the early part of the 2015/16 season, having a brief spell at Brighouse Town, before re-joining the Celts in December 2016.

Meanwhile, Scarborough have also extended midfielder Jamie McGuire’s stay at the club by another month.

The experienced 35-year-old was only initially on loan at the Flamingo Land Stadium for a month, but Boro have opted to further delay his return to parent club, Northern Premier League Division One East outfit Frickley Athletic.
