After netting six goals in his last two games Nuneaton Town frontman Ashley Chambers could be seen as a man in demand this winter – not that Boro boss Tommy Wright will let him go lightly.
Chambers grabbed all three goals as Nuneaton beat Kings Lynn in the FA Cup and then repeated the feat as they defeated Southport in the league last weekend, his first and second professional hat-tricks.
The goal glut has led some to question if the former Grimsby Town man will still be a Boro player come the New Year transfer window.
For Wright it is a case keeping his man, though.
“Ashley is a Football League player,” he said. “He belongs in the Football League.
“It really was an incredible deal for us to get him, he is that good, for him to be at Nuneaton says a lot about the club.
“To be fair I think personal circumstance played a part, he wanted to be local and he wanted to play full-time. But it was still a coup to get a player like that on a two-year deal – and we will want to keep him.”
