Gateshead top scorer Luke Armstrong has been recalled by parent club Middlesbrough.
The 22-year-old forward netted 11 goals in 18 starts for the Heed in the first half of the 2018/19 campaign, including memorable braces against Salford City and more recently in the Boxing Day win over Hartlepool United.
Boro have now recalled the in-form frontman for the start of 2019.
Just before the end of his loan spell, Armstrong said: “When I first came I wanted to get 20 goals by the end of the season.
“Unfortunately, I’m not going to see the end of the season, but it’s the always of the goal of a striker to get at least 10 before the end of the year and I’m delighted to get that.
“We’re in a good position in the table and I hope the lads can carry on the good work into the New Year.”
