Boston United endured a night to forget in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup final, losing to lower-league Cleethorpes Town and seeing striker Jake Wright stretchered off with a head injury.
The final, at Lincoln City’s LNER Stadium, was overshadowed by the injury to Wright, who required lengthy treatment after briefly losing consciousness following an accidental collision with a Cleethorpes player shortly before half-time.
After being treated on the pitch for around 10 minutes, Wright, who is on loan from York City, was stretchered off wearing a neck brace and taken to hospital after the game.
