Bradford (Park Avenue) manager Mark Bower is pleased with Jake Beesley’s start to the season, and he has praised the young striker’s work rate and determination, report the Telegraph & Argus.

Beesley, who is on loan from Salford City, grabbed Avenue’s second goal in last Sunday’s Vanarama National League North draw at FC United of Manchester and Bower felt that was the least the 21-year-old deserved.

He enthused: “Jake’s done well because he works so hard.

He gets himself chances that aren’t really there, either latching on to long balls or just through his sheer effort and work rate.

“The only frustrating thing is he could have had more goals at the weekend.

He can still improve in certain areas of his game, although he’ll get that with the experience of playing.

“He’ll settled in well here and the team really appreciate his efforts. He’s a great lad.”
