David Knight has left Bowers & Pitsea by mutual consent.
Knight originally signed for Bowers in November of the club’s inaugural season at Ryman Division One North (2016/17), arriving from league rivals Hornchurch. Known for his goal-scoring attributes, he quickly became part of a free-scoring trio alongside Lewis Manor and Brad Warner, going on to score 17 goals in his 32 appearances.
On the departure, manager Rob Small said: “David’s been a great servant to the football club. He scored a lot of goals for us and fired us to a league title.
“It was a mutual decision and we both felt that he could do with a fresh start somewhere, but he will be remembered very fondly for his time here and he has been a favourite with the supporters. He has created some great memories so I, personally, will be forever grateful for his efforts.
“He is a great boy who I will miss dearly and I sincerely mean that. I really enjoyed working with him and I wish David all the very best in whatever is next.”
In total, Knight played 134 games for Bowers & Pitsea, scoring an impressive 79 goals.
