Sharon Bowyer tendered her resignation as General Manager of AFC Telford United some weeks ago and leaves her full time position at the football club on Friday 26th May.

Sharon joined the club 13 years ago, first as Club Secretary and later as General Manager.

Sharon said ‘’I will leave the football club with many good memories, including helping get the reformed club ready for the first game of the 2004/5 season and many great experiences since then.  I have had some turbulent times personally during the 13 years, including having 3 amazing children.

All 3 of my children have endured more than any child should with their individual medical conditions.  I’ve been married and divorced!  I have had major surgery myself on more than one occasion during this time and throughout all my ups and downs the club has supported me and I am very grateful to them for this. My children are now at an age, where they don’t want to come to work with mummy on Saturdays, they want to be out having adventures instead.

Also school holidays are really difficult to manage with them, as they require special trained care. I officially leave the club at the end of May, but I will be helping out part time during the close season, to help prepare the club for the forthcoming season. I’d like to thank all of the fantastic people I have worked with over the years, there have been many and most of them I would class as close friends’’

Ian Dosser said ‘’Sharon has done a great job at the football club for 13 years both as Club Secretary and General Manager. Sharon started with the reformed club in 2004, played a big part in getting us ready for the first season and subsequently played a huge part in the development of the club. We fully understand her family reasons for leaving us, we will miss her hugely, but still hope to see her around the club as frequently as possible.

Additionally, Sharon will work for us part time during the close season to help get us ready for the 2017/18 season, this will help us in a smooth transition and give us continuity until the new season’’
