Bradford (Park Avenue) have said that defender Mitchell Lund has undergone successful surgery after sustaining multiple facial fractures.

Lund was injured in Saturday’s National League North game with AFC Telford United, with BPA confirming he was set for an operation this Monday.

The latest update from the club reads: “Mitch Lund this (Monday) morning underwent surgery at Bradford Royal Infirmary. The maxiofacial surgeons performed successful surgery on Mitch’s multiple facial fractures.

“Mitch was discharged this evening and now begins the long rehabilitation process. This will take place under the watchful eye of our own physio team, led by Tally Clayton, and will take around four months, assuming all goes to plan.

“We wish Mitch well on the journey and would like to thank all the medical staff at Bradford Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Hospital for their amazing care of Mitch.”
