John Flanagan, manager of Vanarama National League North club Curzon Ashton, has confirmed that Alex Brown will end his retirement and return to first-team action.
Brown played 70 minutes in the reserve team’s 2-0 win over Stockport County on Monday night, assisting the first half goals from Connor Hughes and Jordon Wright.
Since playing in the match, he has confirmed that his personal circumstances have changed and he will return to the club’s senior team.
Brown, an influential midfielder, captained the Nash during the inaugural National League North campaign last season.
He signed for the club at the start of the 2014/15 season was awarded the captain’s armband.
He has previously featured for Hyde United, Chester FC and Droylsden.
He is in contention to play in the Emirates FA Cup match against Consett AFC this weekend.
