Boss Gavin Cowan believes new arrival Andre Brown is a perfect fit for AFC Telford United, declaring: “He’s got everything you’d want.”

The 22-year-old striker has arrived at the New Bucks Head after turning down fresh terms at Kidderminster Harriers.

A product of Crewe Alexandra’s youth set-up, he had a trial at Leicester City last year – playing for their under-23s side.

“He’s got everything you’d want from a striker. He’s a machine of a lad,” said Cowan. “First and foremost, he wants to score goals and he’ll also bring plenty of pace and athleticism to the team.

“He scored a good number of goals for Kidderminster last season but was frustrated with his lack of game time towards the end.”

Brown scored eight league goals, 10 across all competitions, for Harriers last season – one of those coming as the Bucks lost 2-0 at Aggborough on January 1. He made 33 league appearances, 16 from the bench.

“They wanted him to stay but he’s decided he wants to be playing more regularly. He just didn’t quite fit into their style of play,” said Cowan.
