John Eustace admitted AFC Telford United’s experience was the telling factor as Kidderminster Harriers fell to defeat at the New Buck’s Head on Tuesday night.
A single goal – and a fortuitous one at that – was enough to condemn the team to their first away reverse of the campaign.
The effort, deflected off Ty Williams, came in the first half and, despite a concerted and heavy spell of pressure in the second period, the visitors were unable to find a way back to parity.
Eustace was reflective at the final whistle, commenting: “We came up against a good, experienced team and I think that told in the end.
“We just lacked that little bit of experience and, fair play to Telford because they set up really well and restricted our chances.
“What I have said from day one is that we are a work in progress.
“We’ve got a young squad and, coming here tonight, you could see that.
“But it is something the group will learn from and something I’ll learn from; hopefully we can put it right on Saturday.”
