AFC Telford United can confirm the signing of Lee Hughes from league rivals Worcester City on non-contract terms subject to completion of paperwork from the National League.

Prolific goalscorer Hughes joined Worcester in September 2015 and he went on to score 15 in twenty-eight games in the 2015/16 season.

Hughes’ past clubs include West Bromwich Albion, Coventry, Oldham, Port Vale and Kidderminster Harriers.

He has scored over 300 goals in his career that spans almost 25 years.

Manager Rob Smith and his assistant Larry Chambers have been searching for a striker, and Hughes joins the Bucks having been a consistent performer at this level netting 13 league goals this season.

The management team will have the Board of Director`s full support in trying to move the Bucks away from its current league position.
