Nikki Bull has left Margate with the club rooted to the bottom of the Vanarama National League South.

Margate lost 1-0 to East Thurrock United on Tuesday night and their miserable season shows no sign of improvement.

It was the struggling club’s sixteenth loss in seventeen league matches and they seem certain to be relegated.

The club are still struggling to come to terms with the departure of benefactor Bob Laslett, who quit the club last year.

Bull joins a long list of non-League managers who have left their jobs this week.

In a statement, Gate said the former Aldershot Town goalkeeper resigned his position and that they wouldn’t stand in his way.

“Margate FC is sad to announce that Nikki Bull has decided to leave the club with immediate effect,” it read.

“With new investors` likely to arrive at the club in the next few weeks, Nikki felt that it was the best way for the club to move forward”.
