Buxton hit Matlock Town for six yesterday to strengthen their grip on an Evo-Stik Premier play-off place.
Paul Phillips saw his team win 6-0 at their Derbyshire rivals on a Bank Holiday Monday to remember. Liam Hardy bagged four, with the others coming from Diego DeGirolamo and Alex Brown.
It now leaves Buxton in pole position to take a play-off spot as they head into the final round of fixtures on Saturday. The Bucks host third-placed Warrington Town at Silverlands on what promises to be a tantalising day in the Evo-Stik Premier.
Leaders Farsley Celtic are at home to Marine, needing a point to secure the title, while second-placed South Shields travel to Gainsborough Trinity hoping for a slip-up from Farsley. Buxton will also be hoping for a favour from Shields, with Trinity only below the Bucks on goal difference, just two worse off.
