Greg Taylor says he has “massive respect” for Guiseley for playing the way they did to knock the U’s out of the FA Cup, report Cambridgeshire Live.

The central defender was part of a backline that allowed the National League North outfit to race into a four-goal lead, which Taylor believes gave them too big a mountain to climb.

“We’re gutted with the result. I think it’s a case of we left [ourselves] a bit too much to do. Too late really,” the defender said.

“We gave Guiseley the full respect. We knew they were going to be a tough opposition, and they proved that today.

“It’s easy to say it’s going to be a different game if we had the chances, but we didn’t take them.

“I mean obviously coming in at 2-0, it’s achievable to get yourselves back into the game. Obviously with the two quickfire goals after half-time, we left ourselves a lot to do. Don’t get me wrong, we stuck at it, but we just run out of time.”
