Hitchin Town are to help raise money for charity Sands at their home fixture against Kings Langley on 4th February.
Sands (Stillbirth & neonatal death charity) will attend the fixture and supporters will be able to donate to a bucket collection.
A collection was planned for Saturday’s game with Cirencester Town, however the fixture was postponed due to a frozen pitch at Top Field.
Now the fixture against Kings Langley will be deisgnated as a “pay what you want” fixture and a bucket collection will also take place.
Dr Clea Harmer, Chief Executive at Sands, said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at Hitchin Town Football Club for allowing us to collect donations at their forthcoming match against Kings Langley. The funds raised will allow us to support parents whose babies have been stillborn or have died neonatally.
“As a charity we rely on the wonderful generosity of our supporters to continue our work. Sands operates throughout the UK supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby and promotes research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.”
