Warrington Town boss Paul Carden is backing his men to thrive under the pressure that will be piling up later this week, say the Warrington Guardian.

Third-placed Warrington Town, four points behind leaders Farsley Celtic with six games remaining, cannot win the title in their two forthcoming matches but they could certainly lose it.

They head to Matlock Town on Saturday and then host Whitby on Tuesday, with the aim of securing six crucial points.

“It’s a good pressure and something the lads thrive under,” said Carden.

“It’s been a bit like that all season. It’s something we’ve become familiar with and something that we want to be familiar with.”

One more point will guarantee Yellows a place in the play-offs and that will keep the promotion hopes alive if Town miss out on top spot

“With this many games left and being four points off Farsley, with South Shields in between us, there’s a lot to still play for.”
