Basford United manager Martin Carruthers spoke of his delight at the club’s signing of striker Kieran Wells.
Wells joins from Handsworth Parramore, where he was a prolific scorer, with a return of 63 goals from 79 appearances over the last two years.
Carruthers said: “I am absolutely delighted to get this signing over the line. Kieran’s goalscoring record speaks for itself.
“He is a player I’ve been tracking for the last two or three years and when we heard he was available we knew we had to move quickly as other clubs were also chasing him.
“As well as scoring goals, Kieran has a physical presence and is a great character to have in the dressing room.
“The signing adds more quality to the squad as we gear up for a strong push for the play-offs.”
Wells joined Handsworth in March 2015 from Long Eaton United, scoring a hat trick in three minutes on his debut. He has also played for Heanor Town, Belper Town and Eastwood Town.
