AFC Portchester have confirmed the appointment of Dave Carter as manager.

Carter takes over at the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division club after leaving Moneyfields, along with assistant Gavin Spurway.

On Carter’s appointment, AFC Portchester chairman Paul Kelly told the club’s website:

“We have taken our time in appointing a new permanent manager.

“Our stated aims on the pitch are very clear: we want to win promotion from the Wessex League and then continue climbing the non-league pyramid system when we reach the Southern League. It’s not easy but it is achievable.

“His managerial record at both Horndean and Moneyfields has been excellent, and in our discussions, Dave has really impressed me in terms of his achievements and what he wants to do here at Portchester. I’m sure everyone involved at the club and our supporters will join me in giving Dave a warm Portchester welcome and I can’t wait for us to be able to start playing.”
