Walton Casuals are to play at Church Road for the 2016-17 season while developments continue at the Waterside Drive Sports Hub.

The Stags will set up base at the home of Whyteleafe ahead of the new season, with the plan to return home to Walton-on-Thames next season.

Having spent the 2015-16 season at Merstham’s Moatside Stadium, the club look forward building another close relationship with our league counterparts.

Church Road boasts a 2,000 capacity and start-of-the-art 3G pitch, which will allow Anthony Gale’s men to prepare ahead of a planned move to synthetic turf at Waterside Drive. Our temporary ground also features turnstiles from Stoke City’s Victoria Ground – purchased by the club prior to their move to the Britannia Stadium in 1997.

Just two points separated the Casuals and the Leafe last season, with John Fowler’s side edging the 15th placed position. The Stags unfortunately fell to the East Surrey outfit on both meetings, recording 2-1 and 4-1 defeats.
