Walton Casuals have announced the arrival of former Godalming Town manager Dean Thomas as joint-assistant manager.
Thomas joins manager Anthony Gale, fellow assistant Matt Howard and first team coach Glenn Boosey on the sidelines at Church Road.
The former Godalming & Farncombe Athletic manager recently spent a year at Guildford City, climbing up the Combined Counties table with a number of former Stags in the squad. He most recently had a spell with Ryman Division One South club Godalming Town.
Thomas took to the touchline for the first time in the Casuals’ 0-0 draw at Corinthian-Casuals on Boxing Day, and spoke to waltoncasuals.com about his arrival. He said:
“With the circumstances of what happened at Godalming Town, the opportunity to get straight back involved and work with a manager who has the passion and desire of Anthony was a no brainer for me.
“I’m really busy with work commitments so I’m happy to take a step back and work with Galey as a number two. It’s good to have some stability.
“Walton Casuals are not only a great club, but a fantastic side with some excellent footballers. With the management and people behind the scenes, the club is moving in the right direction and it’s great to become a part of it.”
