AFC Fylde boss Dave Challinor admits yesterday’s pivotal National League clash at Wrexham was a rollercoaster of emotions.
The Coasters sealed their place in the Play-Offs with a goalless draw at the Racecourse and now travel to Boreham Wood on Thursday looking to keep their sensational season alive.
Challinor said: “I went through a complete range of emotions throughout the game. We weren’t great and it was frustrating at times.
“As much as we tried to drive home the importance of winning the game, I think there was a human tendency to think a draw was enough for us and that showed in our play.
“We some good chances, particularly a couple in the second half where I couldn’t believe we didn’t score. Then, within the blink of an eye, we had a sending off and Dover scored and all of a sudden it’s all hands on deck to keep the ball out of our net for the final moments.
“The final whistle was a huge relief and now we have to prepare for Boreham Wood on Thursday.”
