Chelmsford City have confirmed that midfielder Matthew Johnson has left for Enfield Town.
Johnson joins the Towners of the Bostik Premier League with the opportunity of having more playing time. The 27-year-old joined the Clarets during the summer as one of Rod Stringer’s first signings of the season.
Having made 34 appearances for City, Johnson has scored five times for the Clarets – including a contender for Goal of the Season against Whitehawk.
The former Billericay Town and Braintree midfielder struggled to find regular first-team opportunities with the Clarets and was therefore released.
