Chelmsford City have sacked manager Rod Stringer.
The promotion-winning former Braintree Town boss has led the Clarets to three National League South play-off seasons and three Essex Senior Cup finals, with one triumph in the latter in 2016/17. He leaves with Chelmsford currently 9th in the table, seven points off the play-off places.
Chairman Steve Shore told the club’s website: “Rod and his team have provided many moments that will go down in the club’s history, including three years in the play-offs and three Essex Senior Cup finals, for which we will always be grateful. However, performances this season have not reached those of previous years, and as such, the board have decided that a change is now required.”
