Chelmsford City have brought in former Reading striker Leroy Lita on a short-term deal.

The 34-year-old played a part in four Premier League seasons during his time with Reading and Swansea City, most notably in the 2006/07 campaign, when he scored seven league goals for Steve Coppell’s newly-promoted Reading.

Making his breakthrough at Bristol City as one of the Football League’s most highly-rated young strikers, the Congolese-born player has had non-league stints in recent times with Margate and Salisbury.

Lita came on for the Clarets in Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with Dorking Wanderers in the National League South.
