Cheltenham Town Under-18s goalkeeper Freddie Lapworth has joined Gloucester City on a work experience loan deal.

The first year scholar is joining the National League South side, who are managed by former Robins Football in the Community manager Mike Cook, and is set to be a part of their squad for their home fixture with Concord Rangers this weekend.

Lapworth sat on the bench for the first team earlier this season in the Checkatrade Trophy group stage match at Forest Green having linked up with the under-18s side following his release by Oxford United.

In his time at Oxford, Lapworth, who hails from Banbury, spent six-and-a-half years with the U’s.
