Macclesfield Town have confirmed that defender John McCombe has left to sign for league rivals Chester FC.
McCombe, who was offered a new deal by manager John Askey, has opted to move across Cheshire after just over one season with the Silkmen.
The centre-half arrived at Macclesfield following his release from York City in March 2016 and has been a regular in the Silkmen side since.
He made forty-eight appearances for Askey’s side, scoring 2 goals as well as a famous header that helped Macc to a 1-0 win at Walsall last November in the Emirates FA Cup.
