Chester defender Matty Thomson has agreed a contract extension to stay with the club for the 2019-20 campaign.
The 19-year-old is a product of the Chester FC Youth setup, and made his senior debut in April 2018 under Calum McIntyre. Thomson, from the Wirral, signed a deal in the summer and made 15 appearances during the 2018/19 season.
The right-back was named Man of the Match against Southport in the FA Trophy in November, in what was his second start of the season.
Speaking on confirmation Thomson was staying at the Swansway for next season, Joint Manager Anthony Johnson said: “Matty has had a fantastic first season and probably been involved with the squad more than we all anticipated!
“That is down to him and his relentless work rate to want to keep getting better. We look forward to working with him with the extra contact hours the new hybrid model provides.”
