Lancaster City have signed forward Matty Hughes on dual-registration from Chester.

Hughes, 28, has featured in six games so far this season for National League North Chester.

Blues joint-boss Anthony Johnson said:

“As we all know, Matty has had a horrific time over the last couple of years with various injuries, which has meant his playing time has been limited.

“He came to see us and asked if he could go out and play games, as at this moment, he was only getting small amounts of time on the pitch.

“That just shows the character and hunger of the lad, that he’s determined to get back to where he was two years ago.”
