Chester have signed Elton Ngwatala after the midfielder left AFC Fylde earlier this week.

Before Fylde, the 26-year-old had a spell in Scotland with Dundee. Ngwatala played just under 90 times for Kidderminster Harriers and scored 15 goals for the club before his move to the Scottish Premiership.

Speaking on signing the Frenchman, Chester joint-manager Anthony Johnson said: “This is a major coup for our club. To get a player of Elton’s ability shows our progression both on and off the pitch.

“He was wanted by numerous clubs but chose Chester as he can see our ambition and what we’re building here.”
