Chester have announced that Ryan Astles has agreed a deal to remain with the Club for the 2016/17 National League season.

Astles, 22, has been ever present in the heart of defence at the Blues since arriving from Northwich Victoria in January.

Astles scored the winner at Grimsby which ultimately secured the Blues survival last month – his other goal came at Altrincham in the 3-0 victory back in February.

Speaking on the announcement, First Team Manager Jon McCarthy said: “We’re delighted to have retained the services of Ryan for next season.

“He’s a young player with a lot of potential and we’re pleased he’s signed up.”
