As Chesterfield go in search of their third straight home win when they face Harrogate Town on Tuesday night, manager John Pemberton outlined the need to keep improving in order to drag themselves away from the relegation zone.

Avoiding defeat against their high-flying opponents would take Chesterfield out of the bottom four and Pemberton has no doubts that they will have to be at the top of their game to achieve that.

Facing the media in the pre-match press conference, Pemberton said: “We’ve worked really hard and it would be nice to get out of the bottom four, which is what we’ve been striving for, certainly for the last couple of months.

“It will be a tough game and we’re looking forward to the game. We know we’ve got to be good.

“Hopefully we can carry on doing what we’ve been doing and keep climbing. Initially we had to improve in all areas, we’re still improving and we’ve still got a lot of improvement to do.”
