Chesterfield manager James Rowe has shared his support for striker Akwasi Asante after the news that he is set to miss the rest of 2021 through injury.

The former Chester star has sustained a ruptured ACL, with the initial news that he will be sidelined for the next nine months.

Speaking in his press conference on Monday, Spireites boss Rowe said:

“He’ll come back stronger, there’s no doubt.

“He’s in a lot brighter spirits and all he wants is for us to finish the job (and earn promotion).”
